How it works
Since patch 1.0.4 a Capsule Catcher holds 100 kg and J.O.O.N.A.S. launches capsules from the field. It aims at the least full catcher of the nearest group, catchers within 100 m form a group, and it moves to the next group when all are above 80 %.
The catcher empties onto a belt, so its real rate depends on what is downstream. The J.O.O.N.A.S. dust flow per minute is not published, so the calculator shows it as unknown rather than guessing.
Reading the result
- Keep catchers of one group within 100 m of each other.
- Connect each catcher to a belt so it keeps emptying below 80 %.
- The J.O.O.N.A.S. guide shows a complete setup.
Frequently asked questions
How many capsule catchers do I need for J.O.O.N.A.S.?
Enough that the group never stays above 80 % full. The calculator shows how many full J.O.O.N.A.S. bins a group absorbs, so you can add catchers until it covers your emptying rate.
How far apart can catchers be?
Catchers within 100 m of each other form one group, per the 1.0.5 patch notes.
Does J.O.O.N.A.S. need the player nearby?
No. Since 1.0.4 it keeps working without players nearby and launches capsules straight from the field.
